Hi
I know this is probably a silly question.. But I am used to doing 2 layered cakes and my friend wants 3 layers. I use a 3 inch height cake pan and sometimes make 2 of them to layer or just tort the 1 cake into 2.. It just seems the layers would be too thin if I tried to make 3 layers from that 1 cake. I just use boxed cake mix so how would you get 3 layers... Make 3 cakes??
Thanks!!!!
You should ask your friend to clarify exactly what she wants before you bake... does she want three 1" layers or three 3" layers (or something in between)?
I usually multiply the recipe by one and a half and then bake it in the pan as usual (provided it is high enough) or bake it in the separate pans. of course the first method will increase baking timw will using 3 pans should reduce baking time. Hope this helps
