As I'm waiting for the CA Cottage food law to pass (hopefully), I've been heavily considering starting my own baked-goods business. I'll specialize mostly in cupcakes, as well as cookies and hand-pies. I have a few names picked out that I like, but I'm trying to poll people's opinions to see how they like them. My husband calls me Littlefoot, so my first pick is Littlefoot's BakeShoppe

Here are some other names I have picked out (I like these, but they feel too generic to me)
Blissful Buttercream
Blushing Buttercream
Sweet Butter BakeShoppe

These are just some of the names that are in the works. I'm emphasizing buttercream in the name because my friends and family always tell me that I make the best buttercream they've ever tasted icon_smile.gif

Any and all advice is appreciated icon_smile.gif

Personally, I have an objection to "shoppe" instead of "shop." But if that's what you like, it's your choice.

I like blushing buttercream but, it is a bit of a mouthful. My husband and I own a construction business and my husband had to have his initials in the business name. At the time I couldn't come up with a better name and so it was. I've disliked it since the beginning. It's hard to say and over the phone, people have a hard time understanding it. Make sure it rolls off the toungue easily for you will be saying it alot. Make sure someone on the phone will be able to easily understand it and not have to ask how it's spelled.

I would personally stick with Littlefoot's BakeShoppe, although I might reconsider the spelling of shop(pe). It's personal to you and it's your business.

That's just my honest opinion.

You need to run all those names thru the State of California. I only tell you that because I'd be surprised if several aren't already taken. It's really a crapshoot on the name you go with here.

I vote for Littlefoot! The others are very generic sounding. I would NOT go with Littlefoot buttercream - haha - because no one wants buttercream that tastes like a foot. As the others have written, the other names do not roll off the tongue. Keep in mind that you might become big enough for someone who is not you answering your phone. You don't want them tripping over your name, or embarrassed to say it! For example, my husband and I were driving one evening and passed a transmission place called Tranny Man. Now who wants to say THAT when they answer the phone! True, you'll never forget it but that's not always for the right reason! Good luck!

I agree with being careful how you spell your name, especially if you use it for your website or email. My email is SugarMountainCakes@, and people often leave off the "s" on cakes, and I never get their email.
