Ok, Please excuse my ignorance... I'm learning icon_wink.gif I see all of these precious looking cupcakes with fondant as icing... it looks as tho it's right on the cupcake.... so do you fill the cupcake with regular icing or is it just fondant with a smear of regular icing underneath...

I normally fill mine with desired filling(curd, jam etc) then put a layer of buttercream to help the fondant attach and help to level the top off icon_smile.gif

I have a book in it the author has applied buttercream to it. I myself tried it but I did not put anything except the fondant as my family dont like much icing on the cupcake and it was good but then again I suggest you put something in the middle.
