I have a wedding cake with different shades of purple? Will the purple change when it hits the light? Do you recommend a good food color? Thank you!!

I haven't used it yet, but I bought No Fade Purple Chefmaster coloring from Amazon. I have a June wedding with purple fondant/gumpaste flowers. I'm going to test it out soon. Shipping was expensive, but it wasn't cheaper anywhere else.

Add 1 tsp baking soda per pound of fondant/gumpaste.This is a great way to keep the colour of flowers from fading quickly. I have some flowers that are still purple from 2 years ago.

The powders do not fade like the pastes do.

You can always add a little pink in with the purple also. The other replies are great to know too.
