Magic in the Mix - Cake Central Magazine Volume 3 Issue 2

Thread Starter
I just read the "Magic in the Mix" article in the newest Cake Central Magazine Volume 3 Issue 2. On pages 34-35 Summer Stone talks about "this recipe" often, but I don't see the recipe. Am I blind or did I miss something because the recipe is not written out anywhere in the article. Can someone help?

You might want to try posting this in the "Magazine" forum, or send a direct message through the "Contact us" link at the very bottom of the web page.

There. Their. They're not the same.

I hope I die before "your" becomes the official contraction of "you are."

Thanks for your inquiry. The "recipe" that Summer is referencing is the mock cake mix concoction that she discusses in the article which starts on page 34, underneath the "Mock Mix" subheading. I know it's a little confusing, as there's no actual "recipe" written out, and I think you make a good point about the ambiguity of the "recipe" reference. I'll see if we can print an actual "recipe" in next month's issue so you, and other cake makers, can use it in your own baking.

Thanks for reading!

Best,
Robyn

I just purchased this volume of the magazine and I do not have the recipe for the "Mock Cake Mix".  Has the recipe been posted and can you send it to me?

Thanks,

LALA

Hello,

I just purchased/downloaded that issue and I did so specifically FOR that article. So I too was surprised when I got to the end of that article, "flipped" the page, and it wasn't there.

Is there a reprint of the recipe somewhere?

Thanks.

I too am still waiting to receive this recipe.  I purchase this issue of this magazine to see if I wanted to get all the issues and when I saw that the only article I was interested in in this issue did not even list the main recipe and when it was know of the oversight and not sent out to those of us who purchased the magazine, it left me very disappointed about this magazine and I have not purchased another one since.  I sure do wish this recipe would be printed for us who purchased this issue and not tell us we now need to purchase another issue in order to get the recipe we should have gotten from this one.  Peace

Robyn: I'm willing to buy what was the next month's issue if the recipe was published, but I'd like a confirmation that its in there first. Did it make it in?

could someone tell me what is a "Mock Cake recipe"?  so it is not edible? what is it?!!

It isn't called a "mock cake" recipe. The article is for a "mock mix" recipe. In other words, a scratch cake that has the mouth feel and fluffiness of a box cake, without the added toxic chemicals and preservatives.

Hi everyone,

I am so sorry there has been an issue with this! I submitted four recipes with the article, but never saw the article in print so I didn't know that they did not get in there with the other content. I will post the recipes in the recipe section on the site this evening or in the morning and post back when they are up. Thanks for your patience!

Thank you! Can you post the link in this thread once it's up? I have had trouble trying to sift through the site lately. icon_smile.gif
