How to make gold/silver/bronze colored fondant with real shiny shade? Heard Amerimist Airbrush works well... but how do I use them? .. Do they need any tools?

I paint silver and gold by mixing the luster dust with vodka or a clear extract of some sort and sponge painting it on. And then once that dries, brush over it with the dry powder. Works well for me. Thats how I did the gold top on this cake http://pinterest.com/pin/86483255314445738/
