Can I carve a book cake from a one layer 2 inch 11x15 sheet cake? Will it serve 30-40? The more I think about it - the dumber I feel. If I torte the cake will it help? or should I just go ahead and get the stuff to make a second layer? What would you do? icon_sad.gificon_redface.gif

I'd say it depends on what you charged/if you charged, what the event is for, and what kind of book you want to make. I have a picture of a "book" wedding cake and groom's cake I did recently in my gallery. I did both 1 layer and 2 layer "books", if that helps as a reference.
