hi everyone. so i finally got in with a restuarant and a legal kitchen. i will ebe offering my cakes as well as providing items for impulse sale for the restaurant. what do you think best sellers would be? i was thinking cinnimom walnut coffee cakes, pound cakes, maybe cupcakes? these will be at counter so they can see and buy. this location has never done desserts so its a new venture for both of us.

first off....CONGRATULATIONS !!!!

Personally, I would try a variety of desserts at first. A special of the day perhaps. Pie one day, cake another, you know.. chocolate wednesday, carrot cake friday.. that kind of stuff until you get a feel for what the clientele of the restaurant prefers.

Since you didnt list the type of restaurant its hard to offer pin point advice on type. Different eateries have a genre of desserts usually offered... example: steakhouse will always have cheesecake and brownie sundaes, Mexican always seems to have fried ice cream. The culture of the restaurant will help you decide which kinds of desserts to experiment with at first so that you can find those perfect goodies to offer.

best of luck and keep us informed on which are the best sellars. so that we can bug you for the recipe icon_lol.gif

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you. Just a thought - you might want to offer cake pops. It would be easy to put a little display of them by the register, and they're still new enough that a lot of people haven't tried them yet. Small, individual sized desserts will go quick, especially with the kids - - cupcakes, mini cakes, cookies, etc.

Good luck and keep us posted on how it works out for you. thumbs_up.gif

Whatever you decide to sell, I suggest you make small versions. For instance, instead of the 10"/12" bundt cake, make small ones. Or package cookies/cupcakes/muffins in 4 or 6 packs instead of one dozen.
