I am wondering what is the best way to make the straps for my Juicy couture purse cake due in 2 weeks.Would it be easier to make them a few days before and poke them in with wire/wooden skewers and use tissue paper or something else to hold the straps upright while they dry???

Or should I make them now and let them dry rock hard and then poke them in..I am worried they will break though...I don't want to lay them over one another either but I will if that is the last resort.

Also does anyone know of any GOOD tutorials or books with step by step pictures...

Thanks thumbs_up.gif

Hi kiddiekakes
I've seen straps made using thin plastic flexible tubing on the inside to give them some support which are dried then attached. If the straps are large they are at risk of breaking under their own weight so some sort of support helps.
I only know of the Planet Cake book (by Paris Cutler) that has a photo guide to making these sorts of handles.
