Hey everyone...

I'm starting to wonder what I'm doing wrong with my icing. It tastes very good, but when I go to pipe it on top of a cupcake, it doesnt stay smooth. I see everyone elses icing is super smooth with a nice clean edge, but the edges on mine always seem to seperate. I dont know how to explain it, but here's a picture of what I mean.

The icing is either too thick, you aren't squeezing hard enough as you're piping/moving the tip quickly, or the icing has alot of air worked in either from mixing or adding the color.

It could be one or a combination on the three.

What is your frosting recipe?

I am with Texas Sugar's first suggestion, it looks like the icing is too thick. Try adding more liquid to your recipe.
