According to the quick start manual if an alarm lamp flashes orange, make sure that the print head and the ink tanks are correctly installed.

I know how you feel... I recently purchased a Canon MG5220 and ordered cartridges. I put them in and I get the same thing not allowing me to be able to print the alignment or anything. I have tried swapping chips, plaing them in one at a time etc. I have found out so far that my black cartridges don't read. I recenlty returned the MG5220 and bought a MG5320 since it was compatible to the cartridges as well. Still no luck, the same issue. Now the cartridge company I bought the cartridges from is saying that the MG5320 has an issue with the magenta cartridge and said if I could find another MG5220 to do it. Well, can't seem to find one, everyone is out of stock. Also suggested the IP3600 but now not sure about that. But I can't keep buying printers and them not recognizing their cartridges. But it's funny that I can put all the canon cartridges in and it works fine. I swap them it doesn't. Getting frustrated at the edible printing thing. Hope you get yours resovled cuz I know it is frustrating. I have spent the last two days working on mine. Good luck.

I don't know where you are buying your cartridges from but I would contact Debbie at icingimages and see if she can help you. She's very knowledgable with the canon printers.

IF you bought your cartridges from Icing Images, go to their website and go to support. It covers many subjects. If you don't solve it there, they are very helpful if you contact them.

We will have the cartridges in that are compatible with the Canon MG5320, they are tested and passed with flying colors!
