I decided to play with the one that I got today (I get one a day at least). I answered back like it was a normal request but put the address for the police headquarters down when they wanted the address of the shipper to pick the cupcakes up. I'm going to see how far I can string them along if they write back
LOLOL!! That's a good one! Let me know how it goes.

heh heh, they wrote back and so did I. I'm going to see how long they'll keep replying before they realize I'm just wasting their time.
here's the result, I could have gone on longer with them but I had oto much work to do...

HAHAHA.. LOLOL... I LOVE IT!!!! Man, when they "think" they have you, they''l keep on riding you until they get what they want.
Awesome link, thanks for sharing!!
So sorry to hear about Mr Snuffy, but I'm glad he was your top priority.
He was a good dog...
OMG costumeczar!!! HAHAHAHAHA I seriously just laughed so hard, I have tears coming out of my eyes! I want to hang out with you!
I have gotten both of these emails as well. I told them both that we would only deliver an order of this size. The cupcake one didn't respond after that. The "happy wedding" one actually responded and told me that they could not proceed. But, next time, I will certainly be more creative!
I received and email first from a lady calling herself "Janet", then from someone named "Lisa Micheal". It was the same type of email that others in this forum have received. I was definitely suspicious. Here is the email correspondence: (Just want other bakers to beware!)

Hi Lisa,
I just responded to an inquiry similar to this one - Not sure if you are the same person or not.
I am a small business and work alone, so my schedule fills up quickly. What is the date of your event - I can check availability for you.
Cupcakes start at $42 a dozen plus tax.
Thank you for inquiring about Frosted!
Best wishes to you,
Julie

Hi Lisa,
I do not have a restaurant. This is a licensed home kitchen. I don't allow pick up here at my location, I only deliver but can also meet my clients at a location of their choosing. I work alone with no employees, so I can only take a few orders each week and my schedule fills up quickly. I am booked for the week of July 17th. I cannot take any more orders for that week, so I cannot fill your order for 500 cupcakes.
Thank you for your inquiry and I wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Julie

Okay thanks
Scam scam scam...I put an entire page on my blog with my responses to scammers, and that was one of the let's I've posted.
Please when you get emails like this, go to Scamwarners.com and post the entire email on there. Also, post the scammers "name", and the email address they are using, and if they give you a phone number post that too! That way, if anybody else is ever questioning a letter like that and they do a google search of any of that info, it will come up as being a scam.
If you ever question an email, you can do a simple IP search, or google any of the above info. Usually something will come up.
HTH
Ha ha....just got an email from this same address. I've been toying with her for abit. She's getting a bit frustrated with me though. Can't say I don't enjoy it immensely.
I know, I know....I keep preaching about Scamwarners, com and 419Eater.com but it's simply because I hate to see anybody get taken in by these people.
AZCouture, may I suggest though that you don't toy with her any longer? Once they think you are a target, your email will become fair game for all of their scammer friends. Before long, your business email will be full of scamers mail, and you will be spending too much time deleting it. If you really want to bait them, you should always do it from an email address that is specifically for baiting. Check out 419Eater..they will mentor you on how to bait them. As you can see though, as fun as it is...it takes up a lot of time!
Anyhow, that is just my input. Take away from it what you will!
here's the result, I could have gone on longer with them but I had oto much work to do...

@Costumeczar, that was pretty brilliant!! I would say you have a bright future in scam baiting, if you ever decide to quit the cake business! lol
Check out 419Eater.com in your spare time (assuming you have any.. )..its great reading when you need a laugh!!
I don't know, since I started writing them back the constant stream of scams has dried up. I only get about two or three a week now instead of two or three a day. it's kind of disappointing.
I do like the idea of using an email address that's just for scamming the scammers, though. I'm going to go set that up right now.

HA!! I can't believe the emails slowed down!
You need to post that bait on 419Eater!!
I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Snuffy! I hope your uncle is adjusting to life without him..lol. I am sure if you check craigslist, you will be able to find a non-existant teacup yorkie for sale. The owners will be moving out of the country and cant take their beloved dog with them, and will be willing to give her to you for free, if you arrange to pay the shipping cost!! lol
I got an email from Janet on Monday for 500 cupcakes. I knew it was a scam but wanted to see how far I could get. Today I was given her "private carrier's" name which is a non-existant company (thank you Google).
I told her that I had tracked her IP and given it to my husband who was a police officer for our local city.
I received the same mail few minutes ago. glad I decided to do some research before answering. seems to be quite a big party if this lady is ordering cupcakes all around the world greetings from the Netherlands, Olivia.
