I'm trying to decide which wedding site to advertise on. The Knot is well known, well-marketed, etc but charges a lot to advertise! Mywedding. Com claims they have similar numbers of brides registered and charges half as much for advertising but I've never heard of them. Neither company has offered proof of how many brides they have. Advice? Should I bite the bullet & go with a more known company or does anyone have any experience with Mywedding. Com?

Tia!

Neither. Use Facebook. You can buy Facebook ads and target them to with a certain physical radius of your town and specify that the ads only appear to users who have a status of Engaged. Pay per click. Do It. Seriously.

Stay local. I advertised on the Knot and got nothing from it other than other decortors emailing me to ask how I'd done the cakes on my website that they saw because of my ad. Your money is better used buying an ad in one of the magazines that are handed out at your local wedding shows. You can contact the show organizers and ask what magazines they give to brides in your local market.

Agree! Stay local. I used The Knot for over a year and didn't see a return. A bride told me she first saw my info on her third visit to the site. What's up with that? This year for less than what I paid to be in The Knot, I was able to join a wedding group AND attend 2 bridal shows. The networking alone with local vendors is worth that alone. Don't join either.
