Hi Everyone!

I have done cakes off and on for about 16 years for my own personal enjoyment, family birthdays, holidays, etc. but now I really want to start a home based bakery. I live in North Carolina and the problem is that I have indoor pets. I am a STICKLER for cleanliness and frequently santize my kitchen. My house is cleaner than most even with my animals (I have three). Is there any way to get around this rule? I can't afford to open a brick & mortar type establishment yet.

Please help!
Thanks.

The Department of Agriculture absolutely will not approve you to sell from home with ANY indoor pets. No way around that. The only option would be to find a commercial kitchen to rent.

Sorry, but like the previous poster said "no pets" is a hard and fast rule in NC. Maybe you could find a commercial kitchen close by that would let you rent space.

Like everyone else said No Pets allowed wiith home based baking but i know sherry Batou is the Inspector for Eastern Carolina so if your on the Eastern side you can call the Dept of Agriculture and see if there's any Commercial kitchens for lease....
