What is the best way to do a topsy turvy cake? I have only done one and it was a two tier that I cut into the bottom and set the top down into it. I have looked at several on CC that don't look like they are cut into but just set on top of each other. Any suggestions would help. I have another one to do this coming week and not sure if I should just do it the same way I did my first one.
I just recently did a 4 tier topsy turvy which I transported fully stacked to the venue which was about a 20 minute drive.
I had a centre dowel drilled into the bottom board (both were wooden). I coated the dowel in chocolate so it was food safe. I then pre cut holes into the base boards so I could thread it over the dowel. The sizes were 12" to 8", 10" to 6", 8" to 5", 6" to 4". I didn't cut a hole in the tops of the tiers below it. I threaded each tier onto the dowel and glued it down with melted white chocolate.
If you need anymore help let me know.
