I am taking my first official cake decorating class and they asked me to bring an 8 inch. frosted cake. What exactly does that mean???

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

When I took classes we usually brought a simple 2 layer 8in round cake iced with white buttercream and decorated it in class.

Welcome to the CakeCentral forum! You will have a blast in your class.

I agree with the poster above, an 8" round cake (two, 2" high layers) with buttercream frosting between the two layers. Cover with buttercream.

Here is a link with excellent material, especially for beginning cake decorators. This will prove helpful before you start your class and give a little "head start"!

Good luck!
