Hi all!
So the time has come to make my son's 4th birthday cake... and he's again wanting a Cars themed cake. This time, i managed to order a pan from WIlliams-Sonoma in the US so I can bake mini-cakes of the Cars as "decoration" but those mini-cakes will be put on a bigger one... Basically my idea is to put 2 square 12" cakes side by side to make the "base" and then in the top corner of one of them, would put an 8" square. That would serve as the "start-line" of the race... at first was going to make a race-track along 3 sides of the 8" but when I looked at the size of the cars, realized that would be too narrow... so figured to go along just 2 sides... and sorta carve it to come sliding down the cake... does that make any sense? THis "race-track" would then make its way along the base cakes to the "finish-line" at the far end... (not sure yet if it will be down the middle, or up along one of the sides... Anyway... Just wondered if anyone had any tips about how to do the "slide" bit? Or any better ideas about the cake perhaps? hehe!!
