Hello,
My friend wants these 2 cakes, for her shower and her wedding. But the 1st one is the white one with a black flower, and I have no idea if those are buttercream dots or fondant balls or what?? could they be large sugar pearls/dragees... if so any idea how they are stuck on? anyone know how I could pull off this look?

Secondly, she wants the 4 tier for her wedding it's the big cake on the right in this link and it looks to be blue/metalic fondant with I think snowflakes on it .... does that sound right? Or do you think it's buttercream?

If anyone can help me figure out how to create both of these cakes that would be so much appreciated!

First Impression Molds makes a silicone mold that you could use to make the strips of pearls that are on the side of the cake. It would be flat on the back side making it easier to attach the strand to the side of the cakes. I love using their molds.
Personally I think the gold one looks like it is buttercream. I only say this because it does not look like a smooth, flawless fondant covered cake. IMO if you look closely you can kind of see the slightest imperfections in a smoothed buttercream. Then I believe it is airbrushed with the gold.
As for the dot cake it too look like buttercream, probably a Wilton tip #21, and then the dots have been mashed down just slightly to take away the point affect.
I am no expert but this is what I see and if I had to create them this is the thought process I would follow. HTHs and good luck!
