Will BC stick to Royal Icing covered rice cereal treats?

I have to make a 3D Elmo cake. I wonder if this will work... For his arms...I plan on making rice cereal treats, molding them around a wire to form the arms, cover them with Royal Icing, after icing dries and I attach to armature ....... can I pipe BC with the grass tip over that? What's the possibility that it won't fall apart?

It will be fine, just make sure the RI is very dry first.
