Long story short--I agreed to provide refreshments for my daughters choir concerts in exchange for free tuition.

They told me not to do a cake for Christmas because they felt there was not enough time for snacks after the concert.

So last night the director emails met at 7pm and asks for a cake for today at practice for 4pm.

Excuse me! I have a full time job and four children and a husband and a dog to care for! A little notice would be nice.

So anyway I talked her down to music note cookies and rolled out the dough last night to bake this morning.

Soooo-the first batch ended up on the floor and in my dogs mouth after I tripped--

I AM LOSING MY MIND! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_mad.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_mad.gif

go to the store and get eighter dough in the tube and add some flour to thicken it a bit, or get the Crocker sugar dough in the bag.

( in my ho I think a simple cake would be less work, but then it's you not me...)

come home and put the dog out side!!!

relax...and bake!

Oh, honey, I'm so sorry that happened to you! Buck up girl, it will be ok. Just start again and have yourself a cup of tea while they bake.

Good luck...

Sounds a bit rough on you.

I find making rolled cookies much more difficult than baking and decorating a cake.

It's probably because cookies require attention from start to finish...mixing, rolling, cutting, baking, baking, baking, baking, decorating(optional)

cakes...mixing, baking...while it's baking, making the icing........................breeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaak...............while it finishes baking........breeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaak..........while it cools...ice, decorate, package....it's those two breaks (I get to look through CC)that I like so much. icon_smile.gif)

Maybe you all are right, but for 100 people I was thinking bulk cookies...maybe a cake would have been easier.

I am so tired!

Yep, if you have room the freezer, a simple cake can take you about 3 hours from start to finish.

bake, cool for 10 min..throw in freezer while you make icing..

ice, simple top and bottom border..your music notes around the side...some pretty or musically related saying on top..

boxed ...and then deliver!!

I am so sorry. Keep it up. You will survive and actually laugh about it some day. Just take a LOT of deep breaths and try not to dwell too much. I am sure it will all work out. Make sure the customer knows just how hard you worked in such a short amount of time. They need to know!
