Has anyone seen this movie? I clipped the following info off of the ICES website:

Movie Set News--Also the Oklahoma Sugar Art Show will be used as a model and inspiration for the movie The Perfect Man. The following was received from the movie research department: In our script, our Mom enters a Cake Decorating contest. Although our Mom will not be creating the elaborate sugar sculptures that your participants are capable of, she is a proficient decorator and creates beautiful cakes.
The film is currently titled "The Perfect Man" and it stars Hilary Duff. Details on how to run a competition have been provided well as onsite digital footage to inspire the set designers. We are looking forward to seeing the film.

Just wondering....

I only saw the trailers...it was out early in the summer. It stars Heather Locklear and "Big" from Sex and the City. I hope to catch it on DVD soon. The cakes were pretty nice from what I saw. She worked in like a supermarket designing them and then delved into her own business. I haven't heard any reviews but I love Heather Locklear!

I have seen it.....didn't really see very many cakes, and while the "Mom" was a cake decorator, the story was more about her relationship with her daughters. My 12 yr old daughter and I went to see it and we both enjoyed it.....it was a very cute movie........my husband wouldn't have liked it though! icon_lol.gif

Now that ya'll have described it, I remember seeing the trailers for it. I never got the idea that she was a cake decorator, but I guess that is not the central theme of the movie. I like Heather Locklear too!!!

I will definitely have to rent it!

Thanks for responding!
Leslie

The cakes done in the movie were made/decorated by Bonnie Gordon. Check out www.bonniegordoncakes.com or more specifically for this movie: http://www.bonniegordoncakes.com/pages/print_and_film.htm

I'd love to see this movie too!

My step-daughter and I rented it. Her for Hillary, me for the cakes! And yeah, I wish there had been more screen time for them as well! icon_lol.gif

The movie was filmed in Toronto (Hollywood North!) and indeed the cakes were all done by Bonnie Gordon. She does some amazing work! She also charges some amazing prices to go with them. I was watching a wedding show and the bride insisted she have a Bonnie Gordon cake however she only had 2 weeks until the wedding. Bonnie found this tp be too tight so she steered her towards a simpler cake that was doable within that time frame. And it was a lovely cake, about 3 or 4 tiers with waht looked like gumpaste flowers....ready for this? It cost $2500.00!!! icon_eek.gif I just about fell outta my chair!!! I shudder to think what she charged for her articoke cake on her website!
