I'm finally getting pretty good at pricing cakes and cookies and not undercharging, but certain things still throw me for a loop:

Do you charge more for multiple flavors in cakes and cookies? I have a client who wants 100 decorated cookies - half sugar, half rolled spice cookies. Do I tack on an extra charge since it is a little extra work to make the two doughs (and perhaps slightly more for the ingredients of the other flavor)? What about for cakes if one tier is a premium flavor and one tier a basic flavor?

Unless they want something extreme like cheesecake or chocolate ganache, I don't charge more for different flavors. Now, I don't sell cookies, but I probably wouldn't charge more for 2 different flavors of cookies, since it's 50 of each flavor. If it was something like they want 50 cookies and every 10 to be a different flavor, then yeah, that would proably incrue an extra fee.

We don't charge more for multiple flavors if each flavor is above our minimum order. We also don't charge for different flavors in different tiers, but we do charge for different flavors within the same tier.

I don't charge extra for multiple flavors. Most everything I make is fairly small batch anyway. Bakeries that charge extra for multiple flavors are mixing batter in 80 qt mixers and only want to have to make up one batch of vanilla and one batch of chocolate for the week.
