In the description of cakes made here on CC I am always reading where the cake is either a chocolate mud cake or just mud cake. I searched through the recipes but didn't find any that were tried and true listed. Does anyone out there have a great mud cake recipe they'd be willing to share? I'm curious as to what this cake tastes like and would like to offer it to customers. Thanks in advance for sharing!

All the Australian Mudcake recipes listed in the Recipe Section work very well and are all widely used by Australian and NZ bakers.

The Australian ones always have both chocolate and cocoa as ingredients. These recipes produce dense moist cakes that are favoured as wedding and celebration cakes in Australia.
US mudcakes tend, but not always, to have cocoa as it main ingredient. They are also dense moist cakes, but with a marshmallow layer included.

Thank you so much..both to Vanessa for asking the question and to Auzzi for making this all so clear. Now I've got to get baking and try all these recipes!
No license or insurance. Put lead wires in cakes, never wash hands, cake boards are used cardboard. No contracts cause I can't read or write. No lawyer cause I'm judgment proof. I bake with old mix boxes found behind Walmart. Now about my question
