A lady called this week to order a cake for her 1yr old girl's birthday party. I told her I'd send her an e-mail with all the details. Gave her all the details and asked if she would prefer BC or chocolate ganache as a filling.
Later she responded asking: 'Is there any specific reason why I'd need to have wheel clamps made of chocolate in my cake?' And continued: 'Mine is a little girl, I can understand if it was cake for a little boy with some car on the top.'
First I was a bit confused, then... (She has probably never heard about it or didn't know it was a French word. In Italian one of the meanings is 'wheel clamps', it's written in a slightly different way and is pronounced with the final -e.)
I was tempted to respond: 'yeah, you'd need them in your cake. It won't move an inch.'
Just didn't want to be silly. She is a dear and very nice lady otherwise. Sorry, it was not so short.
