I was wondering about how much people are charging for cupcakes , reg size, and using those expensive liners offered out there? Now that the liners are fancy and highly priced, I wasn't sure what an ideal cost should be for each cupcake.

If regular, ordinary cupcake liners are used, how much for cupcakes, reg size, do you charge for each?

Hi Jen, I'm sure you aren't getting much assistance with this topic, as prices vary widely depending on your location. Here in VA, a dozen regular cc's, nothing extra, runs 32.00 per dozen. Add a small candy clay decoration on top and that costs you and extra 10 bucks/dozen. HTH icon_smile.gif

I'm in Iowa and sell mine for $1.50ea unfilled and $2ea for filled or specialty. If there are decorations involved I charge extra starting at add'l $2/dz and go up from there.

Jen, you need to figure out how much it's costing you to make each cupcake. It's going to be different for each person depending on the overhead and cost of ingredients, time it takes you to decorate, desired profit, etc. Figuring the cost of the liners into each cupcake is easy.

I sell by the dozen only. My plain flavors are $30.00 and I never get orders for them. The filled and gourmet flavors are $36.00 to $48.00. None have fondant tops or decorations, just cupcakes. They may have a gourmet candy or fruit on top. These are regular sized cupcakes in the tulip liners. My liners are expensive, but not because they are pretty, but a high quality greaseproof liner.
