I love the way my embossed fondant looks before I put it on my cake but when I put it on the cake, the impressions on the side always are stretched out of shape and some seem to fade. Any tips on applying embossed fondant?

I have also seen embossed fondant where they have colored the raised portion. Can you tell me how to do this or if there is a tutorial on how to do this??

Hi,

Have you tried embossing after you apply your fondant to your cake? Like, when we want to do a diamond patter etc.. I fondant first and then emboss. aalso, the coloring on the raised embossing, most of the time its done directly on the the fondant covered cake.

Thanks for the response - No I haven't tried embossing after applying fondant but I will give that a try. How would you apply the color? Would you have to use a paint brush or is there a quicker way? Like maybe a sponge paint brush so that you could cover a larger area in a shorter time.

Hi,

Yr very welcome. I apply my color either with a dry paintbrush or if I want a more indepth look, I paint it on with my choice of dusts and vodka or lemon extract.
