I've "liked" the Georgetown Cupcake page on Facebook. This evening I saw that they had been on Live With Kelly Ripa so I watched the video on her website. They posted their vanilla cupcake recipe on her website. I have made their vanilla cupcake a couple times (and won't ever again), so I wanted to see if the recipe on Kelly's website was the same as the recipe in their book. It was the exact same except the amount of baking powder was DRASTICALLY different. It was so different that I knew it was probably a typo.

I wrote on their Facebook page, very nicely, that the amount of baking powder was drastically different than what's in their book. They deleted my comment and it's still the wrong amount on Kelly's website. Gee...I was just trying to be helpful by pointing it out. Oh well! Makes me like them less now. thumbsdown.gif

That, and the fact that their recipes in their book are super disappointing (besides the red velvet and milk chocolate frosting recipes).

You really are obsessed with the Georgetown Cupcake book LOL looking at how many threads you've started with reference to it.

Btw it's so not cool of them deleting your comment (thumbs down). I hope you'll find the perfect cupcake recipe book soon!

I also have the book and tried a few recipes... all except for the red velvet were disappointing. I also noticed that the recipes in the book don't follow with their "on tv" recipes.

They responded to my post and thanked me for spotting the typo and that they are going to fix it icon_smile.gif I was hoping they'd throw in a free dozen icon_wink.gif

Mclaren-I think their cupcakes are cute! Also, I'm a bit obsessed with why people are so obsessed with their cupcakes and the success they have. icon_smile.gif LOL!

There are typos and mistakes in every first run of a publication. It's not "Where's Waldo". When you get a cookbook's first run, it's a good idea to go to an accompanying website or the publisher's site and look for an errata page. Most will have a few notes on incorrect information. It usually takes a few weeks to find the bugs.

Hi, I haven't baked anything from their book yet. So the red velvet recipe is a good one? I thought the vanilla was supposed to be good also.
