I have a MacBook Pro and I'm shopping around for the best software for figuring my income and expenses so I can find out if what I'm charging is enough. I'd also like it to include some planning and invoicing options. Any ideas?

I don't have any suggestions for you cuz I'm in the same boat. I'm currently doing everything by spreadsheet in Numbers, which is working fine but is cumbersome.

If you run Parallels or Fusion, you can get the CakeBoss software and install it inside there. Unfortunately, it's only for Windows right now. It is an excellent program. Keeps track of your ingredients, recipes, costs of other items, invoices, sales, etc.

Cakeboss didn't work in Parallels for me - kept crashing. They refunded my purchase, and so the search continues. Thanks anyway.

I have a MacBook Pro. My husband used Boot Camp to divide the hard drive, so I can run Mac and Windows. This allows me to use the CakeBoss software on my Mac, and I love CakeBoss!!! I think you still need to buy a WIndows installation CD, though. If you need help dividing the hard drive, let me know and I'll ask my husband for some directions to share. Hope this helps!!! icon_smile.gif

There IS a cloud based version of Cakeboss currently in development, for use on any platform. We are appreciative of all our patient Mac users, and those who look forward to using our program on their phones and tablets.

Any idea when it will be done? I, too, have a mac.

I'm such a big fan of the cake boss software. It has totally changed how I price things and makes managing my small business easier. And the price tag I think is really cheap for everything you get. I know for the Mac users it's just a matter of waiting for it but hopefully you will love it as much as I do.

It will be this year, and I can't stress enough that it is our highest priority.

I use Quickbooks for Mac. Setting it up is a little time consuming, it's important to make sure that you do it in the right order (vendors, customers, then bank accounts). Read and make use of Little Square articles and tutorials BEFORE you set up. Also, it is about $40 cheaper if you get the download version (Amazon) rather than the CD. Only took a few minutes to download on cable.

I have CakeBoss on my PC and love the program, but my PC is so old and slow that it is hard for me to use it anymore. I will be interested in purchasing the cloud version when it is ready.

I was told that there may be a nominal upgrade fee...Will be well worth it. I'm running it on an old PC now and LOVE it but cannot wait to install it on my Mac.
