make your own cake toppers from homemade dough?

I've got a pretty last minute order for a cake that needs a nurse figurine topper. I can't find anything online and I don't want to spend much as the cake is only a cheap one. Basically I need to know if I can make some kind of dough like air drying play-doh type stuff to make figures from?!

Do yo have any gumpaste on hand? I think that would be your best bet.
