I'm not sure about the ice cream cake and how long to leave in the freezer, I have never made a cake like that..
But as for the butter cream transfer. I made my first one last night. My son's birthday is in May and I figured I should try to the transfer before hand so I can see what I need to fix before his birthday instead of waiting until the last minute... I did my transfer around 7 PM last night and took it out of the freezer this morning around 8ish and it was fine.. Totally formed, no soft icing and it was super easy to remove the wax paper.. I am going to post a picture of my transfer so you can see that it didn't hurt to leave it in the freezer over night.... But remember, this was only my first time, I need some improvements! lol

Hi,
You can leave yr BCT in freezer w/o any problems. Just be sure to keep it in a sfae place in freezer.
Also, You can ice and decorate yr ice cream cake and all wb well. I just took mines out of the freezer a few minutes right before it was to be cut and everything worked out fine. Remember to use a warm knife when cutting to help you slice better.
