I am making my daughters sweet 16 bday cake in March. The cake that I want to make someone else made it and posted the pic about a week ago, it was blue with different colored flowers cascading down the cake with a carriage on top of course I won't have the carriage on top and I don't want to mess the looks of it by putting 16 candles on it or adding number candles that wouldn't match the cake. I really want to make a tiara with the number 16 in the center of the tiara but I have no clue on how to start to make it.. I really need everyones help on this.. TIA

I don't know how you are at drawing....but you can make a drawing of the tiara following some of the template ideas you can find here on CC and then there is this tutorial...

There is a very good tutorial on YouTube on how to make a gumpaste tutorial. Just go to YouTube and search"how to make a gumpaste tiara." The video tutorial is 9 minutes and 23 seconds. Hope that helps. icon_smile.gif

Easiest way I've found (for me) is to go the gum paste route using an extruder to get a nice, even roll of gum paste. I wrap a coffee can with wax paper (taping it in the back) and slowly build my tiara over the course of a couple days (letting it dry/harden in between adding pieces) and gluing them with gum paste glue. I just bought a clay extruder from a local craft store since they're so much cheaper than the sugarpaste ones. You can take a look at some of the tiaras I've done in my gallery if you'd like - they were both done using this method.
