Can anyone tell me how to wrapped a cake and shipped it out to a customer? My cousin wanted me to make her a cake and shipped it to another state. How would I do that and what shipping place would I used. Fed, UPS or what method. Would I freeze that cake first and how would I wrap it,for it won't get damage. Help.

Honestly, I know this is not the answer you want, but I wouldn't ship it. Cupcakes are hard enough to ship undamaged, a cake is near impossible. Unless you do airport to airport shipping; ground transportation shipping companies just do not handle packages with enough care to not damage your cake. Unless it is a plain, undecorated, frozen cake (which if it's just that they can get it locally).

You can refer to the FDA site for the required temps. The cake, if any part is perishable, must maintain the temp through the entire trip. Weather plays a part.

Many types of cakes are shipped by the thousands every day. Most of these places have specialty containers custom made for their cakes. This is how they are protected.
