Tangled tower cake???

Hello, what are you suggestions on pulling off a design like this? http://cakecentral.com/gallery/2139993/repunzel-let-down-your-hair. Has anyone made one of these towers and care to share any tips?

How in the world do you go about delivering it? Would you attach the top of the tower at the location?

I have done two, one larger than the other, but both with the same "innards". I fastened a PVC flange to a piece of plywood and ran a PVC pipe out of it. I cut holes in the bottom cake and slid it down over the pipe. I covered the pipe in piping gel, and then fondant for the tower wall. The house on top of the tower was done before assembly, and I used non-edible things like peanut cans and styrofoam that I covered with fondant and decorated. I attached that to the top of the pipe with double sided tape. My larger one traveled about 20 miles and never moved. The smaller one went to my neighbor's house, and they had no trouble with it wobbling. Here's what the larger one looked like:
