Satin ice is the same type of commerical fondant that cake boss uses on his show, you have to order that online or get it from a cake supply shop, it is easy to work with, however people do have issues with it drying very fast and cracking along edges. Wilton fondant taste is not good and it is more like a rubber texture but if you just starting out, start with this because you can learn alot and it does not dry out as fast. You can get it rather cheap at your local michaels store or hobby lobby.

airbrush, make sure you get one made for cakes because if you get another type it can blow holes in your frosting. Just google cake supply shops online and there are many good ones out there. Kopycake is a good brand.

Hello, I dont think I have it on my site, but there are alot of great home aid versions out there and here on CC. Try them all out and see which one works best. The one i used most often is the regular Marshmallow Fondant one with marshmallows and crisco and Powd Sug. I have not had success as well with othersicon_smile.gif

When I first started my cake biz I couldn't afford fondant retail, so I figured out how to make it. Here's a tutorial from my blog that takes you thru step by step (ignore photo editing, my cropping didn't work???) roselandbakerygirl.blogspot.com

The first time I made it I messed up so bad I had to throw it away. Now I have learned to be patient and stir slowly. I also add 1/2 t. of tylose powder (that's in Satin Ice) to make it less fussy about humidity etc.....

It saves soooo much money on fondant. More profit for you! I buy Satin Ice for super dark or bright colors b/c the homemade fondant cant take all the extra liquid from food coloring. I also have tried to make chocolate fondant and it's never worked. Good luck!
