So a friend of mine wants me to make her wedding cake. Not an issue, since it's a simple design. Except that I can't quite figure out how I'm supposed to do the middle layer. Can anyone figure out how it was decorated (not the flowers or anything, just the actual icing), it's kinda hard to see in the picture, but was the only picture of this cake she gave me.

Thanks!
LL

Well that has got to be the easiest method I've ever seen! Not saying you shouldn't know, I just had to laugh when I looked closer. It's just a round tip squirted all over with no rhyme or reason. That's it. Like what would happen if you sprayed a can of that silly string on the cake.

Yep, that's called "sotas". Start with a base coat of icing, then squirt away with a small round tip!

Ah thanks! That's what I thought, but I just wanted to make sure. It was hard to tell from the original picture, I didn't think to blow the pic up a little (which is what happened when I cropped it so it would attach lol)
