I am going to be making about 200 cupcakes for a wedding in May. This is my first big event I am supplying for. Does anyone have any advise on how I should ask exactly what they would like? I am kinda nervous but very excited! Thanks

Questions to ask for wedding

Yes. Just Ask them what they had in mind? And what is their BUDGET ?
Be prepared to have a list of flavors /frostings with Prices .Maybe some.pictures and or of some of your cupcakes with frosting designs . If they want more complicated embelishments make sure to add it to the basic price .
One thing I see here daily is newbies killing themselves for an order .Then not getting paid for their time and sometimes barely enough to cover ingredients. Your price should factor in your TIME , ingredients, supplies, including
electricity and clean up . If you set your prices too low or free then you set a precident and that is what people will expect . Have faith in yourself and make sure you make enough to cover your time . Or you will burn yourself out Quickly.I understand this was more advice than you ask for
Good luck.and take pictures .

Congratulations! I don't know where you are but I teach a Wedding Class that covers everything from the questions to ask your client, contracts, setting up....everything! I'm in Greensboro NC. My website is Crawford's Creations. I am in the process of offering this class in PDF format and in a booklet. If this is something you're interested in, just let me know. I've taken 14 years in this business and put it all in one place! I promise it will take the fear out of the process
. Private message or email me for more info!

For me, when I did a large cupcake order, I did not realize just how long it would take me. I did not give myself enough time (although by some miracle the order was there with time to spare). With that in mind, did not charge enough for all of that time. I know this wasn't your original question, it just brings me back to my 1st cupcake wedding!
