I have an order for 12 ice cream cone cupcakes and I didn't even think about how to deliver them to the customer, any ideas? Thanks

I used a shirt box with Xs cut into it. When you fold down the parts between the cuts, you get a hole to sit the cone it. I lined it with plastic wrap. It wasn't very professional looking, but the ice cream cone cupcakes were just for fun to bring to work. I'm not sure you'd want to do it for a paying customer. icon_smile.gif

How about using a regular rectangular cake box and cutting a rectangular piece of foam board (I get it at Dollar Tree for $1) to fit in the box. Then cut evenly spaced holes in the foam board to fit the ice cream cones into. Put a couple long strips of foam board across underneath the piece with the holes so it will stay up to hold the cones in place. Like the cupcake box in the pic below but with the insert made of the foam board so you can make the holes the size you need and it will be sturdier than the box material.

ETA: Just realized a cake box may not be tall enough but you could do the same type of insert with any type of box

Could you stick them in some clear drinking cups with a dab of royal icing on the bottom? You'd have to get cups that are bigger than the cones so they are easy to take out, but not so big that if the cone falls over in the cup the frosting gets smashed. Then pack the 12 cups in a suitable box so they are touching each other and won't fall over? You could even add lids to the cups.

Thanks for the ideas. I was gonna try the clear plastic cups first. Just not sure how hard it will be to find the perfect size.

get a large foil baking dish - cut holes out of the bottom - large enough for cones to fit - turn it upside down so that it can stand up on the sides! Great for BAKING them too - stops them tipping over in the oven!! icon_smile.gif

When I have done ice cream cone cupcakes in the past, I took a rectangular cake board and then hot glued Dixie brand paper cups (the little ones you would buy to use in a bathroom to rinse your mouth) to it. The cupcake cones fit perfectly into those!! Try it!
