How Do You Make This Super Neat Effect?

I have seen a few super cute cakes that look like this:




I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas about how this was done icon_smile.gif It's so beautiful.

Basically it's the garrett frill cutter with the frills ruffled and individually placed on the cake from top down.

You really wouldn,t have to use any kind of cutter. Just cut strips thin, use powder sugar and dust a little bit and frill them really good. I usually frill on a hard surface rather than something soft. It will work great. hth

You don't have to use a cutter full stop, here's the tutorial I used for mine:

Be aware, you will start this cake and you will wish you hadn't. I covered a 6" round with it and I was so bored of the technique by the end of it!
