Emerald City?

I would like to make an awesome model of the Emeral City to top a cake. I was thinking isomalt would be the best medium to accomplish this, but I'm open to other ideas. I was just wondering if anybody had any ideas as far as the execution. I have a make your own mold kit, if that helps. I don't care how time-consuming or tedious the process is...I just want it to look awesome! Thanks so much!!!

Maybe you could do it this way? http://sugarsweetcakesandtreats.blogspot.com/2010/09/superman-kryptonite-cake-and-sugar.html

Just make bigger crystals (make the grooves in your foil bigger) and glue them into the city shape. You just use melted sugar to glue the pieces together. HTH

Love the kryptonite link! Thant awesome! You could even try it with some emerald colored disco dust or sparkle sugar for texture if you wanted. good luck and post pics when youre done!
