Can anyone help me?? I know I've seen a cake on here that was a convertible car with two people in the front seat and a cat (hanging off the back for dear life?) but I cannot seem to find it now. I just figured out how to save photos into my favorites (I'm not so quick sometimes, LOL) so I didn't save it when I first saw it... Anyway, a co-worker wants a 'funny' cake for a Promotion party for her husband and two of his co-workers. They are State Police and each just got promoted. They all have quite a sense of humor and she would prefer something that is more on the fun side than serious.

I think the cake was a congratulatory cake for a newly licensed driver...? I thought it would be funny to have the two Lieutenants in the driver and passenger seats and my co-workers husband (who was just promoted to Sergeant) hanging off the back for dear life... If anyone can help me find this pic, I would really appreciate it. Or if there are any other ideas for funny police cakes, that would be cool too. TIA icon_smile.gif

I just searched too - there are a lot of pics out there that don't have descriptions on them and it makes it hard to locate photos. I looked under "16", "liscense" and "driver" but didn't see it. It seems it was for a 16 year old that was just getting their liscense but i'm not positive.

good luck

THANK YOU!! I thought I was nuts! I know I saw that cake on here and I loved it. I just didn't know how to add it to my favorites. I really think it would be appropriate for this situation, knowing what I do of my co-worker. I searched all those things too. I also think it was for a 16 y/o just getting their license. I know it had a gray cat on it and I think the car was red??

You know - just a thought - the picture might have been posted in a forum and not the gallery. Maybe find it by doing a search for someone looking for a car cake or something in "how do I?" or something.

I'm trying!

Sorry! That was me. I've been gone all weekend. Here's the pic. I used the Wilton car pan and then made the people out of MMF. I used the scraps that I cut out for the convertible for padding underneath to jack the car up.

Aaaahhhh!! Thank you so much Calejo! That is the exact one I was thinking of. I think that would be so cool as a police car with the 3 guys. Thanks again! If I end up doing that one for my co-worker, I'll be sure to post a picture of it.

Calejo, more questions. Approximately how many would this feed? Did you use a shaped pan or did you mold it yourself...? Just trying to figure out some things.

I used the Wilton cruiser pan (ironically for your idea) and it fed about 12 people. I would put it on a sheet cake, or make cupcakes if you want it to feed more.... or you could cut out a badge from a round cake.

I was afraid of that (that you used the cruiser pan). I don't have one. I would probably have to order one online. I have never seen one in any of the cake stores around here. I'll see if she really wants that one before I purchase anything though. Thanks for the info!!

I rented my pan from the local cake supply store. Maybe you could do the same, or find another decorator in you area who might lend one to you? Othe than that, I would think it would be fairly easy to mold one so long as they are secured well and shaped/cut while frozen...
