Hi all!

So I'm trying to plan my son's 4th birthday cake... He's a massiveeeeee Cars fan... and even though his cake last year was Lightning McQueen (in fact that birthday was the reason I got into all this cake decorating!).. he's decided he wants Cars 2 to be the theme this year too!! Argghh! lol! I want to do a "wow" cake... He says he wants "all" the characters! I managed to find a cake mould in the US from Williams-Sonoma that has 8 of the main characters and have asked my sil to order and send it to me. So the cars themselves aren't the problem (unless they don't show up! lol) Anyway... I'm looking to try to find a great scene to recreate in a cake. And thought to turn to you cake gods here on Cake Central to help with any cool ideas you may have? I'm nowhere near as great as most of you are.. but I"m willing to try almost anything!

One idea I had was to do a tiered cake with a "ramp" coming down as though it's the race-track.. and each tier representing a different country that they raced in with various fondant cutouts?

Another idea... was to do a rectangular cake... with a race-track down the middle.. and try to do "bleacher" type raised bit on one side with fans ... and the "pits" on the other side with the cars racing down the middle to the finish line. But I dunno... I'm not totally leaning towards this one...

Arrghhh! Anyone got any fabulous ideas? or seen any great pictures around of stuff that they'd like to share?
