I have heard from some on here that they have a hard time getting their RKT smooth and sometimes the bumps come through the fondant. This may be a stupid question ... but can you run your RK through the food processor a bit ? I realize you would have to use alot more RK to make a batch but would that help out with the smoothness? I have only made a barrel before and was able to cover it up with a fondant fence so it didn't matter to much. If that won't work what do you recommend ?
Thank you

You can crush them first. However, you will end up with a very dense RKT. I use a microplaner to "sand" mine smooth, give them a quick coat of chocolate, and then do a final smoothing by hand as rubbing the chocolate warms it enough to fill the crevices and to create a smooth surface.

ok. thata sounds like a plan. I want to make a tractor and thought I'd make it out of RKT and do the wheels that way too. Then I would set it on a sheet cake.
Thanks for the tips.

Hi, I just made a pimped out snoopy cake for my grandsons birthday and I made the snoopy out of RKT and took a tip from here and crushed up the rice krispie before I made the treats. It work really good , and then I covered the snoopy in ganache and that worked out real well for me. It takes some time to make it smooth but well worth the trouble in the end....
