How can I make a burnt orange color that I need for a Texas Longhorn cake?

I use orange and then add brown until it looks right. Remember that the color will deepen over time, so you might want to make it a day ahead of time, a little lighter than you think you need, and then see how it looks the next day.

orange and a touch of burgandy also does the trick.
