Any ideas of what to use for the antennas on butterfly cake pops? I have to make A LOT, so something that won't be too fiddly or take too long. I've never even made cake pops before...
TIA!

Stamens that you would use for gumpaste flowers, but those are on a wire. If you want something edible you could use angle hair pasta, colored.

Or pipe little royal icing or chocolate antennas.

Also, you could buy black licorice laces and cut them into small pieces to attach.

I would vote for stamens too----if you wanted edible, how about colored chocolate? you could make them on wax paper-pink and purple or whatever, freeze them, and attach with a dot of melted chocolate-----but the stamens would def be easier!

And cake pops are fun to make- I just tried them a few weeks ago!! So enjoy.....but factor in the cooling and hardening time -after you coat them, that needs to cool and dry (I stuck mine outside for 15 min and they were super hard-one of the very few perks of living up north!)

I would definitely not go for stamens, they're not edible and you are guaranteed that one person will just chomp down on the cake pop before you're able to mention it to them.

Maybe vermicelli noodles? You can paint them with gel colours which have been "watered" down with vodka.

I would just pipe them on or forgo them altogether. If you're having to make a whole lot, dealing with this small detail by having to adhere something tiny can end up taking up a huge amount of time.

I guess if I had to "had to" have something sticking up and out, I'd probably use sprinkles - jimmies.

Good luck!
