Hi CiNoRi,

I would tackle this request by baking a sheet cake or two depending on the size. Cut 3 or 4 layers into the rectangular shape of the main part of the dog house. Stack, fill and ice. Then cut one piece an inch wider on all sides for the beginning of the roof. I would support this piece with cardboard and dowels. Then cut diminishing sizes of cake to create the triangular shape of a roof. Fill and ice the roof and then you can shape it. Then apply your icing or fondant. Hope this helps you work out your problem.

The only dog house I've done, I did using the wilton house pan. The pan takes 1 cake mix which is estimated to feed 12 people. So to keep your portions in check about 1 cake mix should do but if you are going to hand cut it you'll need to make more cake because you'll loose some in the carving.
