i just got my first americolor gels in the mail, and i have never used them before. i always make my red velvet cake using the wilton recipe and 1 T of wilton's "no-taste" red gel. has anyone made a red velvet cake with americolor gels? do they have a taste? i have heard that they are more concentrated, so could i use less? just eyeball it?

You will definitely be able to use less of the Americolor. You'll be amazed! icon_biggrin.gif

I have used it in my Red Velvet Cake Recipe. I would try 1 teaspoon at first and adjust it from there. I honestly don't think you will need a tablespoon of it. Americolor is some pretty concentrated stuff. I love it! I have not noticed any after taste with the Americolor food gels, in my Red Velvet Cake. thumbs_up.gif
