Making a top heavy cake

My friend has asked me to make a 3d Raa Raa the lion cake. The problem is that his head is huge; bigger than the rest of him, and it sticks out at the back!

Is it possible to make him standing up? I just can't see how to do it without using props!

Maybe you can use a styrofoam ball and begin there. bc i think any other medium will be very heavy as you began to add to it. The styrofoam is light and more than likely will be your best bet.

If it were me I would do a base cake (grass, etc.) and then the lion sitting down. Have the body made of cake and make the entire head of rice krispie treats!
