How to achieve this glitter look?

I would like to replicate the glitter look (without the bats). I'm not sure what is used or if it would make it to crunchy.

Sanding sugar I would assume. Most glitters are not edible (they are labelled non-toxic, ie ou can eat it but won't digest it).

It looks like purple sanding sugar that was photographed in just the right light to make it extra sparkly. I don't recommend covering cake pops in disco dust.

Sanding sugar for sure. I have used it many times in all different colors on cake pops.
