IJust started using satin ice recntly and I need help converting the sizes in to ounces. Before using satin I used the wilton fondant, plus I need to cover an 8" square cake next week so would a 2lb be enough just to cover it?

I seen that chart but I need to convert 2lbs into ounces I'm not that good in math lol

1 pound = 16 ounces.
16 X 2 = 32 ounces

Seriously if you're not comfortable with that level of math, I don't know how you bake. Not trying to be mean, just stunned.

Unless, of course, you are more accustomed to the metric system. Your profile doesn't say where you are located. If you're from a country that uses metric, then I withdraw my stunned-ness.

Hate me if you want, but I didn't think Leah was being snarky, and actually agree with her. I use math every time I bake and can't imagine how I would bake without it (it's actually become a great tool in teaching my newphew how important math is in real life).

Cupcakeboy85 - - you're obviously very young and very new at all this. No one is trying to be mean. On the contrary, the folks here are wonderful and so willing to help and share their knowledge and expertise. After you've done this for a while, you'll be converting tablespoons to ounces without a second thought.

Gifford your assumption as to me being young is totally inaccurate, I have every right feeling the way I do and not ashamed for asking, I don't have to look elsewhere and be anyomous just because. We can all ask questions and it does work in my opinion if one cant find the answer then they will look elsewhere.

Cupcakeboy, I agree with you. There is no such thing as a stupid question. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and think that if you had thought about it long enough, you would have had one of those "duh" moments. Probably you were having a brain fart about how many ounces are in a pound. People ARE being mean to you and others who say not everyone is here to learn, others are here to help and teach others, well, in my opinion teachers shouldn't call their students stupid.

People learn by asking, and if they get answers like "look it up," well that's fine and dandy, but the people who say that shouldn't also say they want to help people and teach them.

I don't comment on this site very often, and this is the very reason why!

Saying "look it up" is "teaching a man to fish" which I think we all can agree is the preferable result here. There are 100 websites where you can convert units of measurement into one another and probably a dozen apps. Literally google "pounds to ounces" and you get your answer. It was kind of a dumb question, and if the OP had said "oh yeah, DUH!" we all would have had a chuckle *together* but no, he is (at the presumed age of 26/27) defending his position that it was an intelligent question. Ok.
