The Mat

Have just heard about this "mat".

It sounds great and I'v just watched a video of it online being used by a professional.
Just wondered has anybody here used it and is it all it is cracked up to be? thumbs_up.gif

I love it, but you do have to season it a bit first before you use it. Other than that it is wonderful. Hope this helps you.

I saw it advertised atr £24.99, think that seems a little expensive though icon_sad.gif

I love mine, the fondant goes onto the cake perfectly every time.
I also love being able to store the fondant between the layers and deal with my 1 year old without worrying about it drying out. I highly recommend it

Thats really good thinkin, I suppose you could have your fondant ready rolled the day before.
I still think £24.99 is a lot for two sheets of plastic icon_confused.gif

My daughter gave me one for Christmas. I used it for the first time to make my "peacock cake". It was awesome. I love it.

I thought the same thing about the price, it seemed a bit much for some plastic. but I decided to bite the bullet and try it out. I would pay the same again in a flash. No more messy counter tops, so less cleaning up after rolling out all that fondant just roll up the mat and put it back in the container it came in.. EASY!.

I bought it and bringing it to canada cost me over $30 by the time I was done. It was so worth it! Fondant rolls so much nicer with no drying and i hardly physically handle it which is even better for food safety issues. I would definitly buy another if the need arrises! Consider it the best $25 you could spend on a little extra stress relief.

Rub a bit of Crisco on it, then wipe it off. I think mine had instructions when I received it.
